Conflipper, the Story of a Great Developer

For the world of mobile devices, XDA member and developer conflipper has done immense contributions. He´s one of the great minds that started a long time ago, playing around with devices, making kitchens for them, ROMs, and a lot of other stuff that we use in one way or another in our devices. Sometimes, we don´t even know how or where, but conflipper’s contributions are all there.

As some of you know, back in June, HTC forced conflipper to take down his site - Shipped-roms. After several  calls and meetup with HTC, the HTC Saga has come to an end. HTC agree to leave the 145GB of ROM files available at shipped-roms, but nothing further can be uploaded. With that also, conflipper has decided to leave the world of mobile development and continue on with other personal goals.

Official WP7 UI Design Template Released, 28 PSDs Directly from Microsoft

Microsoft has released - well hidden in its documentation - a design template for Photoshop which consists of 28 PSD files and therefore includes most of the design elements used in Windows Phone 7. Though this is primarily intended for designers who need to mock up the interface for an application (in which case you should also check out the UI Design and Interaction Guide), it's also a very useful resource for creating custom themes and skins based on the Metro design of Microsoft's upcoming mobile operating system. To quote the MSDN page:

A collection of 28 layered Photoshop template files that can be used to create pixel-perfect application layouts, to help guide UI development, or to pitch an idea. These design templates showcase many controls that are a part of the Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta. Auto-Rotate Config v1.20

Description:
Auto-Rotate can configure the registry settings of built-in g-sensor auto-rotate service. This app is not resident, so, it consumes memory only when you are configuring rotation support.
This app was recommended by @WMRecommend.

User Guide
First, start the application that you like to auto-rotate.
Tap Start/Auto-Rotate.
Tap on Add. You will see a list of current running apps. Select your app from this list.
Tap OK.
Your application should rotate now.

Notes: Samsung's and HTC's auto-rotation service supports only one landscape angle. You don't need to add Opera, since it rotates itself.

Compatibility
Known to work on official GT-I8000 and GT-I8000L WM6.5 ROM. (IJ) Works on Samsung custom ROMs with original auto-rotate service. Works on HTC HD2, and other HTC Devices. Not all devices are supported.

Builde Your Own Andriod Apps with App Inventor

Making apps is a concept that is beyond of many user’s reach due to the secret and very intricate world of programming. Not everyone knows how to code, debug, or compile in order to make a working program. And the vast number of languages available doesn’t make this any easier. Having said this, it seems that Google has jumped to the rescue of potential developers. 

App Inventor and it allows people with 0 programming skills to develop apps for their favorite devices.

This may be the beginning of a whole new era of development for Android devices since there are many people lurking in forums, requesting for apps to be made due to their lack of knowledge in programming. The interface is very user friendly and easy to use. Also, it seems that there may be some requirements for you to use this (such as owning an Android phone). If you feel adventurous enough and have ideas that you would love to make them a reality, then you should definitely check this out.
